ERNEST S. PAPAY
Ernest
has been playing music nearly all his life. Piano
at age six. Clarinet at age 9. Guitar at age 11.
Sax/bassoon in Jr. High. Flute in college. Electric
bass in 1986. Although the reed skills are gone,
Ernest plays and teaches piano, guitar and electric
bass. He is a full-time musician.
These days, Ernest performs mostly in the elderly
circuit, playing and singing 20s/30s/40s tunes
at personal care, assisted living and retirement
facilities. He also plays at preschools, and he
occasionally performs in the public arena. On
Saturday evenings and Sunday mornings, Ernest
plays the contemporary service at Calvary
Lutheran Church (Murrysville). And then there's
the occasional wedding or private party too. Ernest
also teaches piano,
guitar and bass to 60 students.
Ernest first dove into songwriting in the late
80s. His first CD -- Ernest S. Papay - Songwriter,
Composer Musician -- was released in 2003. kids'songs!
was released in 2005. His current CD of children's
songs called More Songs for Kids! was released
in May 2007. |
